MaxFund Photo Fundraiser!
If you love animals then you won't want to miss this amazing opportunity! Book a family or pet photography session in our studio on June 17-18 and we will donate 100% of your session fee to MaxFund animal shelter in Denver! Call 303-562-5536 to reserve your spot or click here for more information on this fundraising event.
Over the past several years Mark has raised over $30,000 for this specific Denver animal shelter and we'd love to make a significant contribution to their efforts with this year's fundraising event!
"MaxFund is a true no kill animal shelter and adoption center that challenges the traditional methods of animal sheltering by leading the no kill movement in Colorado. We strive to give animals, including the injured, abandoned, and abused, a "second chance at life."
No purchase is necessary following your photo shoot, but we hope you love your images so much that you will want to display them in your home! We will also donate 10% of any artwork purchased from your session.
Rescue Puppies - TBT
It's hard to believe that it's been 5 years since we had these two tiny and fluffy foster puppies in our home! These puppies only stayed with us for a few weeks (until they were old enough to find their forever homes), but this pair left us with many fond memories. They were especially fond of helping Mark take pictures!
I highly encourage you to think about fostering a dog or cat if you like animals and have some love to share. We fostered through Life is Better Rescue, but I know that there are many other wonderful animal rescue groups in the Denver and surrounding areas (some are all breeds and some are breed-specific) who are in constant need of temporary fosters.
Many people say they could not foster because they would get attached to the dog or cat. We've had some amazing foster puppies over the years and it was very difficult to let them go to their new homes. But, we were able to give them a place to stay and love when they had nowhere else to go.
"You need professional pictures of your dog!"
Mark's had the privilege of photographing this lovely lady prior to fitness competitions in the past and he was thrilled when she contacted him about doing a photo shoot with her boxer, Dixie. After seeing the pictures from their session, she was overwhelmed. "Trust me when I say "get some professional pictures of your pets!" I'm sooo thankful for the work of Mark Stevens and his passion for dog photography!" These are pictures of her BFF that she will treasure forever.
If you've thought of having professional pictures taken of your pets in the past, don't put it off! Book your session with Mark now.
TBT - A Boy and His Dog
It's always fun to look back at our favorite family photography sessions! This session was an especially fun and memorable session with these two characters. There aren't too many photographers who get excited about photographing a 2.5 year old and a boxer (who was just a big kid at heart) at the same time, but sessions like this are some of Mark's favorites. There was lot of laughter, funny faces, giggles, and face licks. Mark captured this special bond shared between a boy and his dog and the family was beyond happy with the images he created for them. This picture is one of the 3 canvasses they chose from this session to hang together as a photo collage over the couch in the family room. You can't help but smile when you look at this picture and that is exactly Mark's goal for sessions like this.
Friendship comes in all sizes!
Meet Rex, the Great Dane puppy, and Weebles, the Shih Tzu puppy, who have recently become best dog friends since being rescued by Life is Better Rescue and they came in for a puppy photography session last week. Despite their huge size difference, they have become pals and spend their days playing with each other in their foster home. What makes them even more special is that both puppies are special needs dogs. Rex is a tripod and Weebles has a neurological disorder that makes life very wobbly for her. Even with these added challenges, Mark was able to get some great portraits of these dogs for the rescue.
Dogs are Family, too!
Families come in all shapes and sizes! While we photograph a lot of families with their children, we also have a lot of clients who have fur kids instead of or in addition to human kids. This family just added a new little brother to their family and came in for a new family portrait of their dog kids. We think the puppy is extra cute, but what a fun looking bunch this is!
If you have a special four legged family member, be sure to consider bringing them in for a professional pet photography session with Mark. He works with all ages, dog breeds and obedience levels and will capture something truly special just for you.
See us in Modern Dog Magazine!
Have you seen the new issue of Modern Dog Magazine? If you haven't then you should pick up an issue and see the nice article by Mark! The article talks about ways to use your love for photography to help shelter pets get adopted. Several of shelter dogs that Mark has photographed over the years were also featured. A good picture for the shelter or rescue's website is sometimes the difference between a dog finding a forever home and either living in the shelter for years or being put to sleep because it was deemed not adoptable. If you have the time and interest, please consider donating your time at your local animal shelter!

Harley's Photo Shoot
We had a very special visitor in the studio today. Harley, spokes dog for the National Mill Dog Rescue, was back for another photo shoot with us. We're working on a special project with him to help raise more money for NMDR and we'll be revealing the photos from his shoot soon, so stay tuned for more information! Hint: you'll want this for the holidays this year!
Meet the Modern Dog Magazine Fall Cover Dog
We were thrilled to be contacted by the folks at Modern Dog Magazine recently to photograph their fall cover dog, Harley. Harley began his life at a puppy mill and lived a fairly terrible life until being rescued. Harley is now a spokesdog against puppy mills and works with National Mill Dog Rescue, an amazing group who is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing puppy mill dogs. Harley was a great little model at his photo shoot! Book a photography session for your dog with Mark by 9/30/14 and mention Harley and we'll donate your session fee to the National Mill Dog Rescue.
