MaxFund Photo Fundraiser!
If you love animals then you won't want to miss this amazing opportunity! Book a family or pet photography session in our studio on June 17-18 and we will donate 100% of your session fee to MaxFund animal shelter in Denver! Call 303-562-5536 to reserve your spot or click here for more information on this fundraising event.
Over the past several years Mark has raised over $30,000 for this specific Denver animal shelter and we'd love to make a significant contribution to their efforts with this year's fundraising event!
"MaxFund is a true no kill animal shelter and adoption center that challenges the traditional methods of animal sheltering by leading the no kill movement in Colorado. We strive to give animals, including the injured, abandoned, and abused, a "second chance at life."
No purchase is necessary following your photo shoot, but we hope you love your images so much that you will want to display them in your home! We will also donate 10% of any artwork purchased from your session.
New Studio Address
We are working to get our studio address updated on the internet so in the meantime please take a moment to verify that you have our new address before you come to your appointment! Our new studio address is 3342 S Florence Ct, Denver CO 80231. The studio is located in a residential neighborhood - look for the yellow building and the path leading around the side of the house.
The new studio is OPEN!
We still have some projects to complete on the interior, but we're officially working out of the new photography studio! We had our first sessions in the new space this week and it's exciting to finally be able to work out of the new studio.
One of the projects that isn't complete is the path and landscaping. With all the rain we've had in Denver recently, our landscapers haven't been able to finish the project as quickly as we hoped. So, please excuse our mess until they are finished if you come to see us in the next week or two!
The Coffee Bar is in!
Since we are building the new photography studio from the ground up we are trying to incorporate some amenities that weren't available in our last location. The coffee bar/wine bar is one thing we really wanted to incorporate into the new studio design so that clients felt comfortable during their sessions. Whether you're stopping in for an executive headshot, a family portrait session, a pet photography session, or coming in to view the photos from your previous session, we will have a fully stocked coffee and wine bar for your enjoyment!
The flooring is being installed!
The painting of our new studio is complete and the flooring is starting to be installed! Mark chose a beautiful grey barn wood flooring and it will look wonderful both in person and in pictures! We have sessions booked next week and can't wait for our clients to see the new photo studio!
Paint is almost done!
The new studio is almost all painted! Mark chose a light grey on the side walls with the windows and a nice dark grey for the back wall as an accent wall. This is a color that will look fantastic in both color and black & white portraits. There are just a few touchup spots and then we can move onto installing the flooring. We will be putting in some long hours in the studio over the next few days because we have sessions booked in the new space next week!!!
Our Paint Color Inspiration - the Fuzzy Grey Dog!
The drywall is finished and now we can paint! We decided on a gray color palatte and it just happens to match our fuzzy dog, Duncan! He seems to approve of the paint colors and of the new photo studio and had a nice afternoon supervising progress.
Denver May Snow - TBT
While the saying may be "April showers bring May flowers" you learn very quickly not to get too excited about planting flowers in Colorado in early May! More years than not (and this year was no exception), we see May snow in Denver. While many folks are done with the snow for the year and ready for warm spring weather, our dogs are overjoyed with these nice spring snowstorms. Plus, sizeable snows always make for great pictures when you have a very fuzzy dog (who loves the snow)! This is one of my favorite pictures of our Bearded Collie playing in a May snow (back in 2013).
Drywall is nearly done!
Progress continues on our new Denver family photography studio! The last lights have been installed and we are told that drywall will be completed later this week (knock on wood!). Then we can start painting and installing the flooring! The natural light in this studio is just amazing and Mark can't wait to start taking pictures in this new space. We picked up chairs for the lounge area last week and we hope to pick up another awesome furniture find (a desk) tomorrow in Park Hill. We're also deciding how to decorate with his artwork in the wall space available. He's still booking for appointments in the new studio starting in about 10 days, so book your session now to be one of the first clients to see his new photo studio! Our new studio is conveniently located to DTC, Greenwood Village, Lone Tree, Parker, Aurora and central Denver! It's crunch time for us, but we can't wait to show off the new photo studio!
Rescue Puppies - TBT
It's hard to believe that it's been 5 years since we had these two tiny and fluffy foster puppies in our home! These puppies only stayed with us for a few weeks (until they were old enough to find their forever homes), but this pair left us with many fond memories. They were especially fond of helping Mark take pictures!
I highly encourage you to think about fostering a dog or cat if you like animals and have some love to share. We fostered through Life is Better Rescue, but I know that there are many other wonderful animal rescue groups in the Denver and surrounding areas (some are all breeds and some are breed-specific) who are in constant need of temporary fosters.
Many people say they could not foster because they would get attached to the dog or cat. We've had some amazing foster puppies over the years and it was very difficult to let them go to their new homes. But, we were able to give them a place to stay and love when they had nowhere else to go.
